Christmas is Coming

Christmas is almost here, and so is the snow!! We are supposed to be getting 7-10 inches of snow with this big storm coming through. That means we will be able to use our snowblowers! Tony can use the one on the John Deere, once Pastor Tim gets it fixed, and the guys can use the push snowblower.

David Detloff and his friend, Brian came up here and wired the garage so it has electricity running to it. David has also been working with the guys putting up gutters on all of our buildings.

Tony and the guys have been working on the office section of the new garage. So far, they have put in the insulation and drywall. Tony and Karol have been working with an architect and builder for the big garage/multipurpose room. Last night Tony and Karol met with them and redrew the plans with specifics for the front of the building.

Recently, Camp Daniel purchased two used golf carts. Pastor Tim and his brother, Matt, have been working on them at his house. They have one of them running!

The other week, one of our campers, Bonnie, died.
Pastor Tim has been preparing for her memorial service held at The Able Church this Friday. He has been calling, Facebooking, and asking people if they would like to be a part of the service. Bonnie will be missed by all but she is up in Heaven with Jesus now. What a wonderful place to be!

December 13, 2012

A lot of things have been going on up here lately. We got about 4-6 inches of snow the other day, so the guys have been shoveling on all the pathways. Marceaux has been working on the bunk beds and moving them out of the men's dorm. Jen has been working on thank you cards for Special Olympics. Justin got the Camp Daniel website updated, so make sure you check it out! The Camp Daniel newsletter is done and should be sent in the mail in the next couple of days. The Able Church got a sign up under the Living Hope Church sign!

Winter is here!

Winter is here, and Christmas is just around the corner! That means we've been pretty busy getting ready. Marceaux installed the snow blower and cab for the John Deere and made sure it worked.

Everybody has been helping out moving stuff out/in to the garage. The garage is very clean now.

The guys have been sanding bunk beds that were donated while Jen and Molly have been staining and putting polyurethane on them. Tony has been working on the Camp newsletter. Molly has also been working on sorting out pictures of campers and sending out camper Christmas cards. She, also, recently went to her home church to get supporters for her as she lost her supporters. Justin has been working on updating the Camp Daniel website and creating the Able Church website. Also, Christmas trees and lights have been starting to get put up!

The New Garage

As some of you know, we started building a garage down by the Hartley House for storage and Little Tony's office. It has been coming along great! The other day, Fran from Three Lakes and Greg came up to help out. Thanks guys! Here are some pictures of the garage.

September 28, 2012

We've been pretty busy lately. Recently, we had our Camp Daniel appreciation picnic. That went very well. There was plenty of good food, and everybody had a good time. Here are some pictures of the bleaches by the fire pit the Chicago Youth Group started.

On Monday and Tuesday we poured cement.

Next Saturday there is a group coming to build a garage here. Down by the Hartley House.

What's Going On

A lot has happened since our last blog post.We lost a great friend and brother in Christ. On July 2nd, DJ Brunot went home to be with Jesus.
Although we miss him and are really sad, we rejoice in the fact that he is in a better place with God. Imagine, the first thing you see in your whole life is Jesus. Wow! What an amazing thing!

The camp season is done and over with for the year. It was an amazing year with a lot of volunteers.
We had the biggest camp ever during week two with 150 people! A group of about 50 junior high students from Racine came up for the week to help us out.

This year's theme was "Grow". The verse was Psalm 92:13: "When we are together, God helps us grow."
We can't do everything by ourselves, but if we do it together, God will help us get through it.

On the week that there was no camp, the Our Lady of Hope group from Chicago came up and helped build some stuff. They built bleachers around the fire pit, a retaining wall by the driveway of Tony and Karol's house. They built other things too. We will have pictures up soon.

Also, the Camp Daniel annual appreciation picnic is this Saturday, September 8th. If you have volunteered, donated something, or helped out in any way, come on down and hang out with us. There will be plenty of food, a corn roast, and a raffle.
