September 28, 2012

We've been pretty busy lately. Recently, we had our Camp Daniel appreciation picnic. That went very well. There was plenty of good food, and everybody had a good time. Here are some pictures of the bleaches by the fire pit the Chicago Youth Group started.

On Monday and Tuesday we poured cement.

Next Saturday there is a group coming to build a garage here. Down by the Hartley House.

What's Going On

A lot has happened since our last blog post.We lost a great friend and brother in Christ. On July 2nd, DJ Brunot went home to be with Jesus.
Although we miss him and are really sad, we rejoice in the fact that he is in a better place with God. Imagine, the first thing you see in your whole life is Jesus. Wow! What an amazing thing!

The camp season is done and over with for the year. It was an amazing year with a lot of volunteers.
We had the biggest camp ever during week two with 150 people! A group of about 50 junior high students from Racine came up for the week to help us out.

This year's theme was "Grow". The verse was Psalm 92:13: "When we are together, God helps us grow."
We can't do everything by ourselves, but if we do it together, God will help us get through it.

On the week that there was no camp, the Our Lady of Hope group from Chicago came up and helped build some stuff. They built bleachers around the fire pit, a retaining wall by the driveway of Tony and Karol's house. They built other things too. We will have pictures up soon.

Also, the Camp Daniel annual appreciation picnic is this Saturday, September 8th. If you have volunteered, donated something, or helped out in any way, come on down and hang out with us. There will be plenty of food, a corn roast, and a raffle.
