The Able Church Winter Retreat 2015

This past weekend, Camp Daniel hosted its 5th annual Able Church winter retreat! The weekend started Friday night at The Able Church service in Green Bay. Then we loaded a bus and headed to Camp Daniel for the weekend. There were 25 campers and 15 counselors.

The weekend consisted of group games, crafts, chapel services, small group discussions, bonfire, movie night on the big screen, and simply hanging out to get to know each other more.

This was an important weekend for several reasons. One, it gave The Able Church not just a fun time, but also a chance to grow together spiritually and relationally.

It also allowed us to reconnect with our guest speakers, Larry and Carolyn Campbell, who have been huge spearheads in disability ministry and a big part of what Camp Daniel looks like today.

Lastly, hosting this retreat on the Camp Daniel grounds gives our staff a testing ground for how we will be running camps here in the future, when we are complete and ready to run all year round.

It was so nice to use The Barn! Last year, the retreat held all their chapel services and activities in one of the rooms in the Lodge, which was not nearly big enough.

Here we all are crowded in the Hartley House for meals. Can't wait for our dinning hall to be built!

Even though the grounds are not complete yet, we really enjoyed using our facility and we cannot wait until we can run all our camps here!
